Another aspect of the same kind of patterning in
the electronic age which results from
instantaneous flow of information from every part
of every situation, from every quarter, is that we
develop a new attitude to space, a new attitude
to time. The globe becomes a very small village-
like affair, under electronic conditions, in which,
whatever happens to anybody, happens to
everybody.
Marshall McLuhan to Edward S. Morgan, May 16,
1959, Letters of Marshall McLuhan , (Toronto,
1987), p. 253.
